DEVICE FOR COMPENSATING FOR IMAGE SIGNAL BLOCK ERROR AND METHOD THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH COMPENSATING FOR IMAGE ERROR IN REAL TIME WHILE USING LITTLE MEMORY CAPACITY

PURPOSE: A method for compensating for an image signal block error is provided to re-verify an image signal having an error to process the verified image signal, without classifying a normal image signal into the image signal having the error, thereby improving a processing speed. CONSTITUTION: A CODEC decoder decides whether an error is generated in a CODEC encoder signal by decoding/analyzing the encoder signal(S100). If so, the decoder detects an image signal having the error, and again performs the verification process (S110). The decoder compares the detected image signal with peripheral image signals, to verify and classify the image signal(S120). The decoder decides whether an error is generated from the verified signal(S130). If so, the decoder obtains an average value by performing a 7-tap median filter process with the peripheral image signals(S140). The decoder applies the averaged image signal to a normal image signal, and generates a compensated image signal(S150).
