PURPOSE: A method for elevating the temperature in a fuel cell is provided to reach the optimum effective operation temperature of the cell promptly without using any separate heating source. CONSTITUTION: The method for elevating the temperature in a fuel cell comprising a cathode(101), an electrolyte(102) and an anode(103) comprises carrying out an exothermic reaction at the cathode(101) or the anode(103), before the electrolyte(102) reaches the minimum temperature where oxygen ions(111) cross over the electrolyte(102) so as to elevate the temperature in the fuel cell. The exothermic reaction is controlled by monitoring the temperature of the fuel cell and detecting whether the temperature reaches the minimum operation temperature or not.
