PURPOSE: An anti-lock brake system of a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to effectively control hydraulic pressure applied to vehicle wheels according to the state of the road surface via the use of the hydraulic pressure of a brake and displacement of a shock absorber. CONSTITUTION: An anti-lock brake system of a vehicle comprises a master cylinder(300) producing hydraulic pressure to oil while storing brake oil; wheel cylinders(600) receiving the hydraulic pressure of the master cylinder; a hydraulic modulator(700) adjusting the hydraulic pressure transmitted to the wheel cylinders from the master cylinder; a hydraulic pressure-sensing part(400) sensing hydraulic pressure; a displacement-sensing part(840) measuring displacement of a shock absorber(820) according to load of the vehicle; and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,900) receiving the hydraulic pressure and displacement from the hydraulic pressure-sensing part and the displacement-sensing part and executing operation and then controlling a valve of the hydraulic modulator.
