PURPOSE: An air conditioner used for cooling and heating having a refrigerant heating unit is provided to sufficiently raise a discharge temperature on a condition of a low temperature of external air by heating a part of a refrigerant passing through an indoor unit in the case of heating operation. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner used for cooling and heating selectively executes cooling operation or heating operation. In the case of the heating operation, a bypass passage(40) is formed at a downstream of an indoor unit(11), having one side connected with the downstream side of the indoor unit, and the other side connected with an inflow side of an accumulator(24). A refrigerant heating unit(41) is arranged in the bypass passage for heating a refrigerant flowing in association with the bypass passage.
