METHOD FOR MANAGING A USER MENU BY USING A MACRO FUNCTION, CONCERNED WITH SIMPLY MANAGING MENU ITEMS AS A USER MENU HAVING ONE SEQUENCE

PURPOSE: A method for managing a user menu by using a macro function is provided to set random menu items designated by a user to an inherent user menu having one sequence by using a macro function. CONSTITUTION: If an operational mode of an optical disk device is set to a user menu setup mode(S10), a microcomputer generates menu items as OSD images to output the OSD images. The first area for displaying the menu items and the second area for configuring a user menu are displayed on the OSD images(S11). If a recording menu item is selected, the microcomputer displays the recording menu item in the second area(S13), and alternatively displays next menu items in the first area(S14). If a set button is selected, the microcomputer determines that a macro preparation is completed(S15), and confirms a user menu name to manage the user menu name(S16). The microcomputer cancels the current user menu setup mode(S17).
