PURPOSE: A magneto-optical disk, a recording and/or reproducing method using the magneto-optical disk, and a recording and/or reproducing device are provided to obtain size of a main recording area by using a space except the main recording area, thereby realizing a high capacity in the magneto-optical disk having a small diameter. CONSTITUTION: A main recording area(2) records the first information. A sub recording area(3) is formed on an inner circumference from the main recording area(2), and records the second information including disk ID information. A buffer area(4) is formed between the main recording area(2) and the sub recording area(3), and records the third information. The second information is recorded in mark string type in the buffer area(4) and the sub recording area(3). Plural marks configuring a mark string are produced by changing a magnetized state of a recording layer. The third information is reproduced by a modulation signal.
