PURPOSE: A toll collection system, a vehicle terminal device, and a method for processing an error of a toll collection system are provided to reduce a load by omitting a data transmission/reception process in an abnormal state due to a malfunction of a vehicle terminal device and shortage of a smart card. CONSTITUTION: A wireless terminal(300) receives device identification information or transmits and receives toll collection data from a vehicle terminal device installed within a predetermined communication region. An error detector is used for detecting an error due to a malfunction of the vehicle terminal device in a process for transmitting and receiving the toll collection data. A storage unit(320) is used for storing the device information including the device identification information of the vehicle terminal device having the error.
