PURPOSE: A steering column assembly for a vehicle is provided to prevent a loss of operating force by reduction of rotational friction force and to lower the cost of manufactures. CONSTITUTION: A steering column assembly for a vehicle has a friction-absorbing unit(30) between a lower jacket and a lower shaft(10). The friction-absorbing unit includes a ball bearing(31) and a rubber housing(32). The inner race of the ball bearing is pressed-fitted into the outer peripheral surface of the lower shaft. The rubber housing is pressed-fitted between the outer race of the ball bearing and the lower jacket.
