SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXPLAINING VOCABULARY USING MULTIMEDIA DATA THROUGH ELECTRONIC DICTIONARY

PURPOSE: A system and a method for explaining a vocabulary using multimedia data through an electronic dictionary are provided to enable users to attain to a purpose of fast language learning by enabling the users to understand/remember words fast through the electronic dictionary presenting a voice, spelling/meaning of a keyword, and multimedia related to text/image/voice/animation/music/moving image. CONSTITUTION: An input device(110) receives the keyword. A database(120) stores text explanations, multimedia explanations, and multimedia explanation indexes. A CPU(130) receives a query command for the keyword, provides the text explanation, and provides the multimedia explanation according to the multimedia explanation index by connecting to the input device and the database. A multimedia player(140) plays the multimedia explanation. A display device(150) displays the text explanation and the multimedia explanation.
