PURPOSE: A method for selecting a transport channel from a TDMA protocol and a communication system using the same are provided to easily perform transmission quality measurement on each selected channel. CONSTITUTION: The number of channels(N), a time window(T) and transmission quality values of each channel are initialized during the time window(S0). Commands that can be interrupted by a re-initialization finite state machine are executed by units of time driven by a clock(H). A position(Pi, i is 1-N) of a current transmission quality display is determined with respect to each channel(2_i)(B1). A transmission quality display(Ci(t)) of the channel(2_i) is obtained(S1). A value of P1 is initialized to 1(S2). A value of Pi is determined, and k is 1-T(B2). A result of Ci(t-k)Ci(t) is evaluated(T1). If the result is positive, Pi is incremented one unit by one unit(S3). k=T-1(B3). A value Ci(t-k+1) is allocated to a variable Ci(t-k), that is, channels whose Pi value has the smallest value are selected from active channels(S4). Transmission is allowed for the selected channels(S5).
