The transmission channel selection method uses selection between a number of transmission channels (K1,K2,K3,K4) from information received from a radio network controller (RNC) at a base station (NodeB). The base station selects a single transmission channel for data transmission to a single subscriber station (UE1,UE2) and several transmission channels for transmission of data to several subscriber stations. Also included are Independent claims for the following: (a) a base station for a radio communications system; (b) a computer program used by a base station of a radio communications system for transmission channel selection.
