Wastewater treatment methods and the apparatus using in sludge reduction and sludge carbon source

PURPOSE: Provided is an advanced wastewater treatment method and apparatus being capable of reducing sludge discharged and cost effectively treating wastewater by using excess sludge as carbon source for denitrification. CONSTITUTION: Using a wastewater treatment apparatus being comprises of a bioreactor including an anaerobic zone(1), an anoxic zone(2) and an aerobic zone(3), a settling zone(4), and an ultrasonic reactor(5), the method comprises the steps of applying ultrasonic wave to 20-25% of excess sludge (microorganism) generated from a settling zone(4) in the ultrasonic reactor(5), thus releasing soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) from microorganisms, and providing the anoxic zone(2) with the microorganisms from which SCOD is released as carbon source for denitrification.
