The growth inhibition of Propionibacterium acnes for the multiple extracts of herbal medicaments

PURPOSE: A Chinese herbal medicine extract containing Rhizoma Coptidis, Scutellariae radix and Angelicae gigantis radix as a main component is provided which has an effect on inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes as one of cause bacteria of acne without side effects in accordance with long-term use or intake. CONSTITUTION: This extract contains 4.68% by weight of Rhizoma Coptidis, 7.8% by weight of Scutellariae radix, 4.68% by weight of Angelicae gigantis radix, a small amount of Cocicis Semen, Arctii Semen, jujube, Glycyrrhizae Radix, Houttuynia cordata, Aurantii Fructus immaturus, fructus Crataegi, Angelicae gigantis radix, Phellodendri Cortex and Phellinus linteus.
