PURPOSE: A search efficiency evaluating method for computing system is provided to allow a superiority comparison between search algorithms of Internet to be performed in an accurate manner. CONSTITUTION: A search efficiency evaluating method comprises a first step(201) of inputting a search pattern for indicating whether the data searched within an evaluation range is related to the subject in search; a second step(202) of accumulating the distance in accordance with the priority of irrelevant data existing within the evaluation range, from the input search pattern; a third step(203) of accumulating distances of all data existing within the evaluation range; and a fourth step(204,205) of normalizing the distance accumulated in accordance with the priority of irrelevant data, by dividing the distance accumulated in accordance with the priority of irrelevant data by the accumulated distance of all data existing within the evaluation range, and outputting the normalized distance sum(NDS).
