Novel nuclear proteins, IMUP-1 upregulated by SV40 and cDNAs encoding the proteins

PURPOSE: Provided are a novel transcriptome, imup-1, a nucleoprotein, IMUP-1, translated therefrom, and cDNA coding the same protein. The novel nuclear proteins, IMUP(Immortalization-upregulated protein)-1 is upregulated by SV40. CONSTITUTION: Human nucleoprotein, IMUP-1 characteristically includes the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2. Human cDNA includes the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 and codes human nucleoprotein, IMUP-1. The novel transcriptome, imup-1, and nucleoprotein, IMUP-1, are used for the detection of cell immortalization and the analysis of nuclear localization.
