PURPOSE: A system and method for playing/studying of an infant using a puppet are provided for the infant to play and study with familiarity and interest by easily connecting to an internet network through the puppet model familiar with the infant, and by displaying figures of the infant through a television monitor. CONSTITUTION: A puppet(30) is composed of a switch(35), a memory(34) which stores specific account information of the puppet(30), an A/V input device(31), which inputs audio/video data of a user, a data processing unit(32), which compresses and outputs the A/V data inputted, an interface(36) which connects a communication with a set-top box(20), and a control unit(33). The control unit(33) reads account information stored in a memory(34) according to an operation of the switch(35), and transmits the information to the set-top box(20). The control unit(33) controls the switch(35) according to a remote starting signal received from a client computer(70).
