Detecting apparatus of optical fiber system for the detection of the strip head and tail in hot rolling mill

PURPOSE: An optical fiber type sensor is provided to improve the sensing reliability even in a deteriorated work atmosphere. CONSTITUTION: Laser light(9') is generated in a pulse light type from a high power semiconductor laser diode within a laser projector(30). The laser light is transferred to an optical system(100) for laser transmission through a transmission fiber(35a). The laser light is converted to the parallel type laser light while transmitting through a transmission lens. If the transmitted laser light is not isolated by a hot rolled steel plate(3), the laser light is projected to an optical system(200) for receiving laser light. The parallel type laser light is concentrated while transmitted through a light condensing lens. The concentrated laser light is input in a laser light receiver(32) along a light receiving fiber(35b). Then, the entrance of the hot rolled steel plate between delivery gates(5a,5b) is recognized.
