PURPOSE: A substrate glass composition for a plasma image display panel is provided, which has a lower liquid temperature than a molding temperature, high viscosity at a liquid temperature, high deformation point, and low expansibility and can show clear images. CONSTITUTION: The substrate glass composition comprises 50.0-63.0wt% of SiO2, 0.5-10.0wt% of Al2O3, 3.0-7.0wt% of Na2O, 3.0-8.0wt% of K2O, 2.0-8.0wt% of MgO, 3.0-8.0wt% of CaO, 5.0-16.0wt% of BaO, less than 10.0wt% of SrO, 0.5-10.0wt% of ZrO2, less than 2.0wt% of TiO2, less than 2wt% of CeO2, less than 1wt% of SO3, less than 1wt% of Sb2O3, and 1.0-10.0wt% of Nd2O3, wherein the total content of Na2O and K2O is 8.0-14.0wt%, the total content of MgO, CaO, BaO, and SrO is 18.0-25.0wt%, and the total content of SO3 and Sb2O3 is 0.2-1.0wt%. Additionally, the substrate glass composition contains less than 3.0wt% of at least two selected from Pr6O11(or Pr2O3), Cr2O3, Er2O3, Fe2O3, and CuO. And the substrate glass composition has a molding temperature(correspondent to 10000poise) of less than 1200deg.C, a deformation point of more than 580deg.C, and a thermal expansion coefficient of 80-90x10¬-7/deg.C at 40-350deg.C.
