Fuel Composites of Fuel Air Explosive Munition

PURPOSE: A fuel composition for fuel air explosive munition(FAE) comprising solid fuel, liquid fuel and an ignition catalyst is provided to provoke detonation easily by volumetric ignition without use of secondary triggering device unlike the conventional FAE. CONSTITUTION: The fuel composition contains ternary system comprising 40-70wt.% of solid fuel, 20-60wt.% of igniting agent and 0-10wt.% of additives, and quaternary system comprising 10-45wt.% of solid fuel, 25-30wt.% of liquid fuel, 20-60wt.% of igniting agent and 1-10wt.% of additives. The solid fuel is one or more of metal(Al, Fe, Mg), non-metal(B, C, Mn), oxidant(metal oxide, non-metal oxide, NH3, nitrate or perchlorate of Mg, Ba, Ca, etc.), polymer(polyethylene, polypropylene), and explosive(TNT, octol, pentolite). The liquid fuel is one or more of low molecular weight alkane, petroleum, ethylene oxide, n-hexane, benzene, toluene, chloro benzene, etc. The igniting agent is one or more of bromine trifluoride, chlorine pentafluoride, alkyl nitrate and amyl nitrate. The additives comprise a dispersant(triton X), binder(polystyrene, hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene, polyvinyl acetate), crosslinking agent(potassium dichromate, metal alkoxide, Ti-salt), and gelatinizing agent(guar gum, xanthan gum, polyacryl amide polyvinyl alcohol).
