PURPOSE: A method for processing the termination of an SM(Short Message) originated from a 2G(Generation) network for an inter-network interworking SMS(Short Message Service) is provided to normally terminate the SM originated from the 2G network as a synchronous CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) network irrespective of a kind of a termination terminal. CONSTITUTION: An SMSC-B(Short Message Service Center-B)(51) transmits a MAP(Mobile Application Part) send routing information for SM according to a 3GPP(Generation Partnership Project)-based standard to an HLR(Home Location Register)(52)(S501). The HLR(52) transmits a MAP send routing information for SM acknowledgement message to the SMSC-B(51)(S502). The SMSC-B(51) grasps whether a termination place is a 2G network and an MS-B(Mobile Station-B)(50) is a 2G dedicated or dual mode terminal on the basis of the MAP send routing information for SM acknowledgement message, and transmits an SMDPP(SMS Delivery Point-to-Point) message according to a communication standard defined in the 2G network to a 2G MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(53)(S503). The 2G MSC(53) provides a corresponding SM to the MS-B(50) on the basis of the SMDPP message(S504). If the MS-B(50) responds to the SM(S505), the 2G MSC(53) corresponds to the SMDPP message and transmits a response message to the SMSC-B(51)(S506).
