A denture base resin with glass fiber and the method for processing thereof

PURPOSE: A process of preparing denture base resin in which a cut glass fiber is included in polymethacrylate resin is provided. The product can be used as a substitute for a commercially available denture base resin because it has improved transverse strength and is easily subjected to clinical application. CONSTITUTION: Polymethacrylate resin powder and a glass fiber having a length of 3 to 6mm and a diameter of 8 to 14m are mixed, ground and mixed with a polymethacrylate monomer. The mixture is packed in a metal mold, formed and ground after removing the mold. In the process, 25 to 65 parts by weight of the polymethacrylate monomer is used, based on the ground powder and the surface of the glass fiber is coated with silane.
