摘要

PURPOSE: A method for preparing slurry for forming a catalytic layer of a PEM fuel cell is provided to avoid the problems caused by residual alcohol, including degradation of catalyst availability, and to give a PEM fuel cell having a high Pt loading amount. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing slurry for forming a catalytic layer of a PEM fuel cell comprises the steps of: (a) adding an aqueous MOH (wherein M is an alkali metal such as Li, Na and K) to the solution of perfluorosulfonate ionomer(PFSI) to convert the PFSI in the solution into the M+ form; (b) adding a polar organic solvent having a boiling point higher than that of the residual alcohol in the PFSI solution and heating the mixture at a temperature from the boiling point of the alcohol to the boiling point+20 deg.C to remove the residual alcohol, thereby providing pretreated PFSI solution; and (c) mixing the pretreated PFSI solution with Pt/Carbon powder to form the slurry.
