PURPOSE: A data analysis system and method is provided to enable a user to set some analysis conditions, then to analyze data on customers who are the marketing targets of the user, and to graphically display the analysis result. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a key input device(10), a data input thread(20), a data conversion thread(30), a database matching thread(40), an algorithm thread(50), a result analysis thread(60), a storage(70), a monitor(80), and a CPU(90). The key input device(10) inputs a name of a database, which stores customer data, a cluster number, and parameters, dependent or independent. The data input thread(20) offers a data input form, and transmits data elements, input via the data input form, to the CPU(90). The data conversion thread(30) standardizes the input data. The database matching thread(40) matches the database according to a user selection for applying stored data to this system. The algorithm thread(50) operates a K prototype algorithm according to a data type, for example, a numerical type or a range type. The result analysis thread(60) constructs a graph for the operated result. The storage(70) temporarily stores the element data or the middle value of the algorithm operation result. The CPU(90) analyzes the data by executing the threads(20, 30, 50) based on the data element, and controls the display of the analysis result on the monitor(80).
