PURPOSE: A method for writing a thematic map for the statistics and the analysis is provided to perform the analysis using the geographic data and to express an emphasized content through a map by adding a thematic map writing function for effectively expressing the data having a geographic element. CONSTITUTION: A program having the thematic map writing function and displaying many variables through the diverse graphs is provided to a user by storing a basic data file for KOREA including various kinds of variables such as a city name, a street name, and a population(S100). According to a condition selected by the user, a new data file is produced by using the stored basic data(S200). In case that a province, a district and a street ID do not exist, a geographic variable is created for the data. The user matches the administration unit names of the geographic data stored in the basic data file with the geographic data held by the user(S300). The desired data read from the stored basic data file is added to the geographic data held by the user(S400). After writing the thematic map by using the selected data, the thematic map is outputted through a display or an external output device(S500).
