Automatic tool changer for numerical control machine tools

PURPOSE: An automatic tool changer for a numerical controlled machine tool using a linear slider mechanism is provided to move a case back and forth horizontally to facilitate the change of the tools in the numerical controlled machine tool. CONSTITUTION: An automatic tool changer(40) includes a bed having a table on which workpieces are put, an upper saddle moving in a widthwise direction of the bed, and a vertical column moving back and forth to the upper saddle. The tool changer is engaged to a main shaft head so that a main shaft is detachably attached to tools(35) to machine the workpieces on the table with moving up/down to the vertical column. The tool changer also has a clamp(41) for clamping the tools to be used. Sliders(42) are arranged in rows to move the clamps linearly and to change the tools.
