Method for inputting special symbol in mobile phone

PURPOSE: A method for inputting special characters in a mobile phone is provided to allow a user to easily input special characters by corresponding special characters to one key. CONSTITUTION: When a user selects a special character input mode(S300), a controller displays two or more special characters corresponding to each number button(S302). The user searches a special character by using up/down cursor key or left/right cursor key from the displayed special character table(S304). The user inputs a special character by pressing a corresponding number button(S306). The controller inputs a corresponding special character by checking how many times the corresponding number button has been pressed(S308). If the corresponding number key has been pressed one time, the controller displays the first special character of the corresponding number key(S310). If the corresponding number key has been pressed twice, the controller displays the second special character(S312). If the corresponding number key has been pressed thrice, the controller displays the third special character of the corresponding number key(S314).
