FIELD: purification of urban and industrial sewage. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of removal of phosphorus from the urban and industrial sewage. It is dealt with the field of purification of the urban sewage and also sewage of food-processing industry, cattle-breeding complexes and intended for removal of phosphorus presented in the form of ions PO3-4from the sewage. The method includes a mechanical, a biological purifications of the sewage and physicochemical treatment of the silt water with return of the compacted active silt after depletion of phosphorus from the silt concentration tank into the aeration tank. The silt water enriched with the volatile fatty acids produced in the acidoficator operating with the raw settling taken from the primary sedimentation tanks in the mode of the first stage of an anaerobic fermentation is fed in the silt concentration tank. The technical result is the high quality of purification of the sewage from phosphorus and decrease of operation costs.
