FIELD: analytical chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: proposed reagent contains trilon, solution of dark blue chromic indicator and solution of agent for forming alkaline medium in three versions for different ranges of hardness. Used as agent for forming alkaline medium is agent containing aliphatic amine of the following formula RNH₂, R₂NH or R₃N, where R=C_nH_2n+1 or R=C_nH_2nOH which are normal or branched at n=2-4.
