The utility model relates to the field of radar and can be used to measure the polarization characteristics of scattering of atmospheric particles. The technical result to which this utility model is directed is to measure the characteristics associated with the microphysical parameters of atmospheric particles of various shapes and sizes. When the device is operating, the generated high-frequency pulses of the radar and optical wavelength ranges, coordinated in duration, have the same type of polarization, are emitted synchronously and propagate in one direction to atmospheric particles. Processing signals backscattered by atmospheric particles consists in receiving the copolarized and cross-polarized components of the echo signals simultaneously in the optical and radar wavelength ranges and determining the degree of depolarization of the echo signals from atmospheric aerosols and the differential reflectivity of hydrometeors.
