Train or rail vehicle anti-skid protection electronics comprise an impulse generator arranged opposite to a rotating toothed pole wheel (4) that is attached to the stub axle. The impulse generator comprises a sensor (25) that detects the varying magnetic field of the pole wheel. Measurement means (26) are arranged between sensor and wheel for monitoring the sensor's serviceability. Said means do not influence the magnetic field. The measurement means comprise one or more non-magnetic strands or slabs that are placed on the sensor and form an optical or electrically isolated path section.
