The method serves for the manufacture of a strainer rod, which in the region of a wear of at least one pressing edge is limited. In the area of at least one lateral surface of a basic body has the strainer rod at least one spacer element over the side surface marker. The distance element is in a coating process and is applied to the base body in the entire region of its of the side surface of the base body connected with the base body in a limit.
