The drive has a turnable driven eccentric shaft with connecting rods (2), which are born pivoted with their other ends on the press ram (1). It is formed by a fluid drive (4), which is connected directly or indirectly via a transmission stage, to the eccentric shaft (3). The fluid drive is operated by a pump (7), e.g. a constant pump, which is driven by an electric motor (11) with constant or variable RPM, and an additional flywheel (8) if required. Pump pressure and/or volume are regulated by an output regulator (9).
