The method of managing patient data of a patient (1), for storage in a data base (2), enables the patient and/or the doctor, independent from each other to have read and/write access to the data. The method involves providing communication between the patient (1) and the doctor (3) using electronic communication such as via the Internet or by email. The system provides a user interface (2a) which enables access to the data base on input of a valid password.
