A medicament for treating respiratory diseases contains a proton pump inhibitor (I) and a respiratory therapeutic agent (II) in a fixed or free combination (specifically a fixed oral combination). Independent claims are also included for: (1) a method for treating respiratory diseases, involving administration of an effective amount of (I) together with (II); (2) the use of (I) in combination with (II) for treating respiratory disease patients; (3) a pharmaceutical preparation for treating respiratory diseases, containing (I) and (II) as active agents; and (4) ready-for-use medicaments, comprising (I) and (II) for simultaneous or successive administration, successive administration being immediate or after a longer delay.
