The joint has an outer part (11) with outer tracks and an inner part (21) with inner tracks containing torque-transferring balls (36) set in cage windows in a ball cage (31). The outer joint part forms inside a first stop and guide face pointing in one axial direction and a holding element (35) inserted in the outer joint part forms a second guide and guide face pointing in the first axial direction. The holding element is detachable from the outer part for assembly and can be moved in the second axial direction to the connecting side of the joint outer part and when assembled is moved in the first axial direction for play-free axial construction of the cage.
