The procedure for the joining of one hollow profile (1) to another (2) profile of a frame structure of a motor vehicle's body entails, before joining, applying a sealing substance (5) around the inner side of the first profile and spaced away from the edge to be joined. At room temperature, the sealing substance adheres to the inner side of the hollow profile but does not run, and after joining of the profiles at higher temperature the now fluidized sealing substance runs onto the joining point by gravity force action and hardens there.
