Method of serial transmission of digital data such as in automobiles using Manchester encoding of bits

The serial data transmission method uses several bits forming a data word and several data words forming a data telegram. The bits are Manchester encoded. During at least one bit period after the data telegram a constant level is transmitted wherein several bits are attached up to the start bit of the next data word which have a value inverse to that of the start bit. The transmission is preferably a wireless transmission. The received digital signals can be converted to signals according to the UART protocol and supplied to a control device.
