The parking aid (2) for a motor vehicle (1) has a visual unit which by means of a support unit movably mounted on a body part is adjustable between a lowered initial position and an extended in-use position. A mirror (6) is movably mounted on the support unit (10,11) and is adjustable from a space saving location when the support unit is lowered into its in-use position when the support unit is extended. The support units is guided on guide rails (12), and the mirror in its space saving location is installed parallel to the displacement movement of the support unit.
