Method for attaching a transponder (2) with a chip (3) and antenna coil (4) to a metallic pressurized container or the safety valve thereof. The coil is rod-shaped and has electrical connections (3a, 3b) to the chip to form the transponder. The transponder is contained in a non-metallic housing (7) and the resultant module (1) is completely inserted in a cavity within the pressurized container with the coil axis parallel to the container surface and the coil at least partially next to a window in the container.
