A method for tiling a roof using large prefabricated panels, fitted with tiles, has the gaps (6) between the vertical edges adjacent panels covered by special tiles which over a top overlap at both vertical edges. The panels are pre-tiled with one edge vertical edge fitted with a line of special tiles which have bottom overlap on both vertical edges. The panels are prepared with the bottom horizontal line of tiles pushed up under the next horizontal line, and temporarily secured. After fitting each panel the bottom horizontal line of tiles is released to enable their bottom edges to overlap the top edges of the next lower panel, thereby completing the roof.
