The clamps which grip the edges of the flat rectangular solar panels (20) are fastened to the laths (2) which support the curved tiles on the roof. The base (101) of the clamp has upstanding walls (102,103), whose upper edges (4,5) locate in the back of the panels. The base is retained by a U-shaped bracket (110). An upper U-shaped clamp and bracket is tightened onto the panel edges by a nut and bolt (131,131).
