The monitoring and control system for the directional and emergency warning indicators (10,11,13,16) uses tachometer signals (7) from one or more of the wheels (5,6,8,12). The system includes a computer (27) which is also connected to the headlights (14,15) and the engine (4). Emergency flashing signals may be triggered when the vehicle is stationary or moving slower than a given speed.
