The threaded insert (101) for light construction panels or similar has a threaded sleeve (120), which is plastic extrusion coated, and a positioning disc (110) which is formed in one piece directly on the threaded insert. The positioning disc has a bore of such diameter (di) that a small overlap (113) is formed in relation to the plastic coating of the insert. The overlap of the positioning disc with the plastic coating has a radial width of about 0.1mm. An Independent claim is included for a procedure for the fitting of a threaded insert in which a layer of adhesive is sprayed onto the surface of the light construction panel and the threaded insert is fitted into a recess in the panel.
