The vehicle roof (1) is adjustably attached to the vehicle (2) and joined to it by connecting elements (3). The roof has lateral regions and can be attached in a first position so the lateral regions join to corresponding lateral regions on the vehicle and in a second position is at a distance from the vehicle so that there is a distance between the lateral regions of the vehicle roof and the lateral regions of the vehicle.
