Method for generation of at least two sine or cosine functions from two high frequency signals with very close frequencies. According to the method two high frequency signals are generated with one slightly lower than the other. An electronic circuit is then used to process the signals using an addition theorem. The invention also relates to use of the method with non-optical interferometric and phase measurements.
