The differential gear has a differential carrier (14) rotatable around the longitudinal axis (A), side shaft gearwheels (18,19) rotatable in relation to the differential carrier around the longitudinal axis, and compensating gearwheels (22) mounted in the differential carrier to rotate around axes (R) radial to the longitudinal axis, meshing with the side shaft gearwheels and revolving with the differential carrier. The differential carrier forms journals (16,17) co-axial to the longitudinal axis and by which it is rotatably mounted in the side shaft gearwheels which in their turn are rotatably mounted in the gearcase (11).
