The device has an electromagnetic holding device in the area where the shoe's sole contacts the sporting equipment (1) with at least one electromagnet and a yoke (19,20) and an electrical contacting device (11,12;13,14) between the shoe and the sporting device. The sporting equipment is joined to the shoe by magnetic force when the electromagnetic holding device is connected to an electrical source (4) via the contacting device. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a scooter with an inventive shoe holder (b) a skateboard with an inventive shoe holder (c) and a snowboard with an inventive shoe holder.
