The swashplate pump especially for high pressure cleaning appliances has pump pistons (13,14) bearing upon a swashplate (5) and a drive to set the swashplate in rotation. The drive comprises a pinion (20) which meshes with a gear ring (21) installed on the swashplate concentrically to the rotational axis. The pinion revolves around an axis parallel to the swashplate, and the gear ring is installed in a plane which preferably extends perpendicularly to the rotational axis of the swashplate.
