The clamp is arranged in an open position over a correctly positioned tube or probe. By pressing the locking mechanism of the clamp, this slides onto the tube and, also, the tube slides into the mouth or nose of the patient. The clamp has dimensions selected for the particular diameter of tube such that the lumen of the tube is not narrowed and that the tube material is not damaged.
