Process for preparation of self-cleaning surfaces on coated flat textile structures involving; (i) application of hydrophobic nano structured particles to the surface of a flat transfer medium, (ii) application of a coating composition and a flat textile structure to the surface of the transfer medium, heat treatment of the composite obtained, and (iv) removal of the transfer medium is new. An Independent claim is included for a flat coated textile structure obtained as above and having at least one surface coated with nano structured hydrophobic particles.
